Psalm 96:1-2 – Evening Message #12

O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth.
Sing unto the LORD, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day.

– Psalm 96:1-2

The songs of defeat, depression, oppression, sickness, and sadness must be done away with. The LORD God Almighty has decreed, from time immortum, that we are blessed. Therefore, the time has come, that we sing a new song.

This new song is a universal song, for “all the earth” is to sing it. World change starts within each one of us. As we sing the new song within our souls, we will invariably hear it in our neighbor. Bless the name of the LORD; “bless his name” right now. Praise him for all good things. He is worthy of all the praise we can muster. Yes, life could be much better, but thank God, it could be much worse.

Show the reality of his salvation daily. This is why we must sing a new song. The time for griping and complaining is over. As we have a more positive outlook on life, it will be an example for the negative ones to follow. Once we identify a problem in our life, we must work to solve that problem. Complaining cannot fix anything anyway. Complaining, singing the old negative songs, does nothing but keep us focused on a dismal past. Our eyes must always be focused on our glorious future in Christ. Let us sing, in harmony, a new song unto God. Amen.
