Psalm 96:3-5 – Evening Message #13

Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.
For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.
For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.

– Psalm 96:3-5

Those of us who believe in God, must live positively upright as an example. As we live right, and the heathen (unbeliever) see the rewards of righteous living, their hardened hearts will soften. We cannot be ashamed of the Gospel of Christ.

The LORD God Almighty is great indeed. When we praise God, we should praise him with all we have. People cheer at sporting events. People occasionally pass out when they see their favorite celebrity. How much more should we reserve for the worker of our salvation, the creator and sustainer of the universe?

Idol worship is a complete waste of time. Why worship the rock, the sun, the trees? To be sure, we should be thankful for them. We should take care of our environment. However, if we can find the unction to worship and appreciate nature, our unction should be double/triple/quadruple for the God who created nature. Amen.
