Pre-Spring Fast – Day 6
We are now closing the sixth day of fasting.
Saints and friends I wonder about people sometimes, specifically the condition or state of their minds. There are so many erroneous thoughts in our culture that it is sickening. Thursday I went to work to pick up my paycheck. One of my teenage coworkers asked me, “George where are your jeans?” I had on light colored khakis. I reiterated to her, “I told you I don’t wear jeans.” She closed the conversation with a quite foolish remark, “You look like one of them.” When I turned around I saw a group of European Americans.
Please say it with me, “What!?!” Because I don’t wear jeans I am dressing like white people? This is just as crazy as—getting good grades is acting white—or—speaking proper English is talking white. When will we realize that these thoughts come from white supremacist minds. That mind says anything of high quality comes from whites and every other race is inferior. Father Hurley was right when he taught us that blacks and poor whites, as well as other oppressed groups, had taken on a spirit of inferiority. I see whites who dress like thugs. I see whites dress in business attire. I have a preference of not wearing jeans, this has everything to do with my style and background, and nothing to do with race.
As long as we misapply racial categories so grossly, racism will continue. This young black lady obviously has a spirit of inferiority. Oh what a shame. I’m sure if she reads this, she will disagree. This is why I accepted the ministry. Even the younger generations are being poisoned by erroneous thoughts, and somebody has to cure them with God’s word. Peace and Love.
Your obedient servant,
Rev. George H. Latimer-Knight
