So many doors have opened for my family that there isn’t enough time to tell it all. Without going into much detail I will say this – if you’re willing to work and live right, God will step into your situation. Now I’m not saying that if you’re not living right that God can’t or won’t bless you – God is a merciful God. However, I’ve found it best to do everything within my power first. Doing so tells God that’s I’m serious about my dreams and visions.

I’m encouraging everything member of the Universal Hagar’s Spiritual Church to purchase a DVD set of this, whether you were there or not. I even invite nonmembers to do the same. Starting with our young people on up to our leader, the messages delivered were insight, thought provoking, soul stirring, and unforgettable. May God bless you all!

We cannot afford to sit around and let life beat up on us. We have to proactive in our spiritual walk. Watching and praying puts us in the proper mindset. A developed mind is rarely surprised by any life event, positive or negative. The thinking person is always prepared for the unexpected for they expect life to throw curve balls regularly. Before we breakdown the definition of storm, I want this burned into your memories – The best way to survive a storm is to recognize it before it hits. So it is in the natural, so it is in the spiritual.

This entry is part 2 of 4 in the series The Storms of Life

The first indication of a storm of life is a disturbance in the positive flow of things. When this warning sign appears stop and pray. Jesus instructed us to watch and pray. Matthew (26:41) reported it as, “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Mark (14:38) reported it as, “Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.” Prayer causes us to pause and take a second look at our environment. That second look gives us another chance to not enter into temptation. Temptation, here, is anything tempting us to go against the will and word of God.

Jesus offers us two other pearls of wisdom on this front. In Mark 13:33 he said, “Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.” The truth is there is a pre-step, if you will, to persevering through the storms of life. The pre-step is staying in constant prayer because anything can come upon us at any time. What happens if the first warning sign comes five minutes before the disturbance? This barely leaves enough time to pray. So if we pray consistently we will maintain a more staple mindset. And the more staple mindset we have, the more capable we will be to withstand any obstacle.

God bless you,
Your obedient servant

This entry is part 1 of 4 in the series The Storms of Life

Now we will begin breaking down our definition of storm. A storm is “a disturbance of the normal condition of the atmosphere…” Normal conditions are calm and relaxed both in the natural and the spiritual atmosphere. So what are the initial warning signs of a storm of life? Any disturbance of your peace, joy, happiness, financial prosperity, love, and the like is a warning sign. Storms can start within or may move upon us from the outside but the warning is the same.

Once you see, feel, hear, taste, or smell the disturbance it’s time to stop and pray. It’s time to stop and meditate. It’s time to stop and sing a sweet song of Zion. It’s time to stop and do whatever you have to do to get your mind receptive to the righteous spirit. If you can get your mind receptive at this stage then you will know what to do before the other storm attributes come along. God bless you.

Your obedient servant

We are going to break this definition of storm down, so that we might recognize the storms of life when they arise. One might assume that a storm of life is obvious and needs no discussion. However, just like natural storms, supernatural storms have warning signs. If we can recognize the storms before they knock us down and out then we can run for shelter or at least weather the storm gracefully.

Join me over the next month to learn more about the storms of life. God bless you.

With all the issues going on in the world the last thing I want or need to see is the President’s bare chest. This is one reason why the world is in the shape it’s in. Don’t focus on foolishly small details like these. Focus on what will make your life better. God bless you.

Have you ever had your feelings hurt? I know I have. It’s definitely not a place you want to be. Mother Hurley said, “You should wear your emotions as loose garments.” Some read this and say – we can’t have feelings. This is not so. The feelings or emotions, in this analogy, are still on you but there is room between you and your emotions.

This room allows you to respond and not react. A reaction is immediately, comes without thinking. A response is a thought out reaction. By wearing your feelings as loose garments when something or someone hurts them, you won’t feel the sting immediately. And by not feeling the sting immediately you have bought yourself time to process properly what’s transpired.

Life is a process. Nothing happens in isolation. When situations present themselves to us we must take pause and analyze everything. Maybe your boss jumped down your throat about something. Don’t assume it came out of anger or hatred. Maybe they really value you and your work and that’s why the boss even bothered to tell you.

When your feelings get hurt don’t react through your hurt feelings. Let the hurt subside. Let the pain subside. Let the anger subside. Subside it through prayer, fasting, and meditation. Go to a counselor, therapist, spiritual advisor, etc if necessary. Sometimes praying in isolation isn’t enough and we need to talk things over with someone. Just pick that someone very wisely.

God bless you my brothers and sisters in Christ. Until we meet again.

Your obedient servant,
Rev. George Latimer-Knight

All Hail to the Christ within the readers of this blog!

I thank God for each of you. Your readership is important and I cannot underestimate it. A quick examination of the last 20 posts will show you that I have not been posting regularly as I once did. There are for a number of reasons for this which honestly are mostly poor excuses. There is no excuse for not working the ministry.

I try to avoid getting too political or at least taking political sides on this site. However politics affects us daily and we cannot shy away from it. Father Hurley spoke on politics. I saw a clip this evening and felt compelled to post it. On the June 12, 2008 edition of Countdown with Keith Olbermann, Olbermann gave one of his Special Comments. I did not post it because it shows John McCain’s flaws, but because it shows the potential flaws of us all.

Unlike McCain or most public figures, our words and opinions are not recorded by the media for future reference. Most of us go along in life saying and doing all manner of things and foolishly think that because no one will remember, that wrong decisions are okay. Though the media doesn’t know you lied to your wife or that you cheated on your homework or that you are stealing cable, God knows all about it. Just like Olbermann replays all of McCain’s words and shows how he contradicts himself, God has that ability toward us.

Some may dismiss Levi H. Dowling as a “New Age” fool but his proclamation that every word and deed is recorded in the ethers is supported by Malachi 3:16. The Lord through Malachi in chapter 3 tells the people he has heard their complaints that basically good things happen to bad people (v. 15), therefore they see no reason why they should follow the Laws of God (v. 14). So to combat this excuse (which we still use today) he let them know in verse 16 that “a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name”. Saints all that we say and do is recorded for God and his servants to find out.

We must be careful of everything we say and do because all, whether good or bad, will come home. In fact according to Matthew 12:43-45, when we send out evil thoughts or spirits “seven other spirits more wicked than himself” will return. It behooves us, therefore, to watch our thoughts and words. Though no human being may be recording us, God’s Universe sure is taking note.

I have the honor to be your obedient servant,
Rev. George H. Latimer-Knight
Written September 1, 2008 at age 26

Princess Ollie Daniels stopped to get gas and I got out to pump. I went inside to get the receipt. As I walked toward the door a young man said, “Man of God.” (I was wearing my clergy attire.) I heard him but it didn’t register. He said it again a little louder, “Man of God.” When I turned around he shook my hand and placed in it a $5 dollar bill. He declared, “Receive this blessing.” I thanked him. The Spirit of God will bless us in ways we cannot forsee.

Dear readers receive the blessing!!!

Precious saints, it has been some time sense I have come to you with a morning message. It is an honor to write to you again! Whist going through my meditation this morning, my thoughts carried me to the August 2007 convention. I heard the choir singing and distinctly heard one of the speakers. I was then impressed with the thought, “Points of Contact”.

Points of contact refer to any righteous, happy, or good event in the past, where we know God was in the midst. When the present presents us with challenges, as it often does, we must learn to refer back to points of contact. In difficult situations, it is sometimes nearly impossible to feel God’s presence. However, by looking back, and knowing that God does not change, we can encourage ourselves to know that if God was with us, he is with us.

Another thought—we must always be on the lookout for God in our lives. When something good happens today, see God in it, and make note of it. Note the event in your mind, yes even write it down. Points of contact may come objectively from the spirit, or we can have a notebook where we write these things down and read through them during tough periods.

Finally, as we plan for the future, we need to plan for future points of contact. Set goals, both short term and long term. Look forward to victories, because with each victory we have yet another point of contact. We can accumulate so many points of contact, that the evil thoughts of doubt and fear will never have a chance to take root in our minds. Peace and power are yours.

I have the honor to be your obedient servant,
