I. Though I am a member of the educated public, I’ve come to believe the school system as we know it is irrevocably flawed.

II. Suffocated System
a. Age
b. Teacher & Pupils
c. Fulltime attendance

III. Deschooling Self & Society
a. “The discovery that most learning requires no teaching can be neither manipulated nor planned. Each of us is personally responsible for his or her own deschooling, and only we have the power to do it. No one can be excused if he falls to liberate himself from schooling.” – pp 47-48
b. “I believe that the contemporary crisis of education demands that we review the very idea of publicly prescribed learning, rather than the methods used in its enforcement.” – p 65
c. “In school registered students submit to certified teachers in order to obtain certificates of their own; both are frustrated and both blame insufficient resources—money, time, or buildings—for their mutual frustration…The alternative to dependence on schools is not the use of public resources for some new device which “makes” people learn; rather it is the creation of anew style of educational relationship between man and his environment.” – p 72
d. “Contemporary man goes further; he attempts to create the world in his image, to build a totally man-made environment, and then discovers that he can do so only on the condition of constantly remaking himself to fit it. We now must face the fact that man himself is at sake.” – p 107

IV. Deschooling society starts with realizing the terms “schooling” and “education” are not synonyms.

All Hail to the Christ Within Each One!

Thank God for bringing us over into this new calendar year 2010. I had delayed giving the year declaration because the spirit did not reveal one to me yet. But in our afternoon service yesterday the spirit overshadowed me with a message for the youth. And this morning while talking to a fellow clergy about it the spirit spoke – “2010 – The Year of Understanding and Change”.

I will do a few videos on the subject but these words understanding and change are deeply intertwined. We need to get things straight in our lives this year! The same old, same old, will not help us this year. There is a great calling we all must fulfill and its time we get moving with it. We need to become more practical minded in our goal-setting.

Times are too critical to be lazy, foolish, and purposeless. God wants us to make a change for the better. This desire is the basis of the holy scriptures of all loving faiths. Yet dear ones change cannot come with without understanding.

May God bless you! Peace, joy, happiness, and financial prosperity are yours in 2010 if you heed to the call of God.

I have the honor to be your obedient servant,

God bless you my brothers and sisters. The spirit of God has brought us the last few hours of 2009. No matter what happened in this calendar year—know that God has a greater plan and calling in 2010. As we enter into this new decade let us shed off the garments of doubt and fear and put on the whole armor of God.

My wife and I are now about to go to the Star Blessing. This is the first one using Father Hurley’s Star since 1993 which Princess Georgia Latimer’s conducted. The spirit is doing something new, something grand, something powerful. Watch out for your redemption is drawing nigh unto you. Believe it and receive it now in Hurley’s precious name. Christ spoke through Jesus and said the work must go on. Though he departed from earth over two millennia ago his spirit and work still stand. Hold on saints! Hold on for the spirit will have its way in 2010! Amen. Amen. Amen.

Destanee Clark, a young woman from Toledo, Ohio, passed on today. Normally when I see stories like this they pass by me because the world is full of news. But this one did not because I took a Nursing Assistant course with her in September-October of this year 2009. She made mention several times of her lifelong heart condition but I did not realize it was this serious.

I pray many blessings on the family. This should show us that tomorrow is not promised unto us. Every day is a precious gift from God. An example I learned a while back comes to mind. What if I gave you a check for 30 million dollars? What would you do with it? But there’s the catch … you will only have five more years to live from the date of the check. What would you change? I’m sure you will change everything!

Why not make that change today? Why not come to the realization that you may only have five years left? Don’t get to your last night on earth and have a heart full of regret. Destanee did not come off or carry herself as a person facing death. She lived a normal life still getting her education and making plans for an unsure future. God bless your spirit Destanee! May you live on and on!

It’s another day’s journey and I’m glad! Here in part three of the “Impeding Your Own Success” series, I want us to find the source of success. If we can find the source then we can tap into it whenever we get ready.

From our previous posts we discovered that success has to be built over time. Sustained success needs a solid foundation and a consistent energy source. That energy source, which is the source of success, is our own thinking. Yes the way we think determines whether reach the great heights of success we all desire to. There are four areas where our thinking must particularly be attuned in order to achieve sustained success; they are our willingness, our determination, our drive, and our vision.

Over the next four posts in this series we will address these four areas. I want you to look up these four words on your own first. I want you to think about what they mean to you. It is important that we develop success within. It is important that you not just read these posts but participate in the progress. Let these ideas refocus your attention.

Remember success starts and ends with you! You cannot be successful unless you have a vision where you want to be. You cannot be successful unless you have the drive to get started on the right path. You cannot be successful unless you have the determination to see your vision become reality. You cannot be successful unless you have a willingness to wade through the tough times to become the person you want to become. God bless! Peace and love!

This entry is part 2 of 3 in the series Impeding Your Own Success

All Hail to the Christ Within,

Praise God for another day! We have another opportunity to let our light shine. Today we will address why we fear success, which is part two of our “Impeding Your Own Success” series.

Sustained success is something feared by many! On the surface this sounds quite foolish. If no one wants to be a failure then why in the world would anyone fear sustained success? The fear, most often, is subconscious and unawares to us. The fear stems from what is expected of us once we move from success to sustained success. Marianne Williamson wrote, “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our Light, not our Darkness, that most frightens us.”

We don’t fear our inadequacy, we fear that we can in fact do all that we desire. Humans are creatures of habit. So if we are used to feeling inadequate or feeling sorry for ourselves, then we will probably continue doing so. We even continue this sad pattern in the light of hope for our situation, even when we see the light getting brighter within us. Yes, we fear the success brewing on the inside which is sustained success.

Now that we know we can subconsciously fear success, we know we must dig a little deeper into ourselves. We have to now find the source of success. And in finding the source of success, we will never be failures again. May God bless you all! Peace and love!

I have the honor to be your obedient servant,

This entry is part 1 of 3 in the series Impeding Your Own Success

All Hail to the Christ Within,

Today we will begin a series of posts on the subject, “Impeding Your Own Success”. This is a subject that must be addressed because too many of us impede ourselves from becoming all we can become. In this post we will deal with the idea in general then expand to more specific examples in the posts to come.

To become successful, we must start an inward journey. Yes, education, opportunity, and knowhow are important to successes but getting our inner life in order is critical. In fact until we properly arrange our inner life, our chances of sustained success are near zero. Notice I said “sustained success”. Anyone can get a once in a lifetime chance or opportunity. But if the inner life isn’t in order the golden opportunity will turn into useless dust.

We have to want more than superficial signs of success; we have to want sustained success. Having money and material objects is not success. Having multiple educational degrees and honors is not success. Having golden opportunity after golden opportunity before you is not success. These can be signs of success but they are not success in themselves. In each instance we can find an example of a person who had these and became pure failures in the end. So until we get past the superficial definition of success so many go by we will never have sustained success.

So I will leave you with these thoughts to ponder and comment on. I believe this is a good subject to examine as we end our calendar year and people prepare to make useless New Year’s resolutions. God bless you! Peace and love!
