All Hail to the Christ Within,
Today ends the second day of the Pre-Spring Fast.
This fast has me in such a high spirit, that my mind cannot go low. I spent the day singing at work. A potentially explosive situation is brewing, and to avoid any conflicts I just kept singing. Why argue with ignorant people? It is a waste of time and energy. The evil spirit wants us all upset and angry with our mind on frivolous things. If someone doesn’t like you, keeping demonstrating love, and know that you have done all you can do. Saints and friends, let us start using good reasoning.
On the way into the temple tonight I heard the spirit say, “It comes through fasting and praying.” In order to receive the blessings of the Lord, we must go according to his plan and ways. We cannot be vindictive and hateful and think things will work out in our favor. These approaches are only temporary. Fasting helps discipline the mind and body. Again, it is really surprising me that I am not having major hunger strikes so far.
I only mentioned to a few co-workers that I am fasting. When they understood that I am eating nothing for a week they are amazed. One young lady said, “I couldn’t do that.” Believe me there are members throughout the nation saying the same thing. Most of us never realize we are the creator of our own destiny. If we cannot control our eating, then how can we expect to control other areas of life. Fasting is a great spiritual tool.
Tomorrow, we will talk about the natural or medical benefits of fasting.

Princess Shirley Aquart, President of the Wisemen Board of the Universal Hagar’s Spiritual Church, has called a Pre-Spring Fast. The fast began midnight on Sunday, March 9, 2008 and will run through Sunday, March 16 at 3pm. Only water, teas, juices, and soups (no meat) are allowed for those of us in the School of Wisdom. I have opted to take the strictest path and intake water, teas, and juices only.
As I retire to bed this evening, I am surprised that only one hunger “pain” hit me today. The desire for food is really suppressed at this time. Some wonder about the significance of fasting. One major benefit is psychological. Think about it. If I can go seven days without eating period, then that lets me know I can control other desires. Hunger is natural, but even natural desires must be controlled. For instance, it is natural to seek pleasure, but if you are in college your studies come first.
Saints and friends, I will be writing daily whilst going through this fast. I’m not sure what I will talk about this week. I can say that I feel good right now; this fast is already having a positive effect. For me, food is sort of a drug. Princess Georgia Latimer (my grandmother) told me as a child, “George, you overeat because of your nerves. If you can ever get control of your nerves, you will stop overeating.” I have found this to be true, long after she left this physical realm. Maybe we will pick up on this tomorrow. Peace and Love to all. Good cheers to all who are fasting—you made it to day one!

God is saying, “I’m already thereâ€. Thank you for joining me for evening message #8.
I was really touched by the song “I’m Already There†performed by Lonestar. Truly God is saying these words to us now. Paul wrote to the Corinthians, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.†(First Corinthians 10:13) When you first realize that you are in trouble. When you first realize you are stuck between a rock and a hard place. When you first realize you have made a terrible mistake. Know at that very moment that God has already created “a way to escapeâ€.
There is no problem that God has not already solved. There is no hurt God cannot heal. There is no confusion cannot bring peace to. Lord have mercy. I feel the spirit now. Yes God is saying, “I’m already there. Take a look around. I’m the sunshine in your hair. I’m the shadow on the ground. I’m the whisper in the wind…†God said he would never leave you nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6)
God is already there. Yes he is. Yes he is. Right now, even while the tears are falling. Right now, even while the wounds are still fresh. Right now, even while the pink slip is still in your hand. Right now, even while the evection notice is on your front door.
When trouble arises, the solution is already present. You may have to fast and pray to see it. You may need the advice of a trusted spiritual advisor or stable friend. But rest assured there is an answer to your situation.
May God bless you all. I look forward to developing this into a full sermon.
