On the Brink of Blessings – Evening Message #6

You are on the brink of blessings. Thank you for visiting FatherHurley.com. Today I went through my prayers and meditation at noon. I heard the spirit say, “You are on the brink of blessings.” Saints and friends don’t give up! When things are at their worst, have faith that the blessings of God are on the way.

Most people give up too soon. Thomas Edison was a failure. Abraham Lincoln was a failure. But neither one of them stayed in failure mode. They saw their failures as stepping stones to the plateau of success. You will never gain success without encountering some failures; learn from them and move on.

Keep yourself encouraged when things go wrong. Sing an uplifting song, say a prayer, meditate for a few minutes, run around the block, do whatever it takes to stay in an encouraged state. Hold on to the hope and promise of tomorrow by doing positive things today. God is still in the blessing business, although your order may not come when you want it. God’s blessing business has more than enough supply to meet all of our righteous demands and requests. You are on the brink of blessings. Peace and love to all.

Hope for Racial Unity

Yesterday, I regained my belief that racial unity is possible. Nothing wrong with being proud of our race, nationality, or religion. We just need to find high ideals like love, peace, and compassion to unify ourselves around.

Racism May Never End – re: racism 2007

Racism, since it is a way of thinking, may never end. Its effects can be minimalized. There is always hope we can reach out to people, and thereby reduce the number of racists.

Hope And Faith for Tomorrow

As we travel through the roads of life, obstacles will get in our way. However, we must press forward. In order to do so, we must have faith. Faith that no matter how things look, a brighter future is ahead. In our Message Circle service tonight, I was reminded of a great analogy concerning the sun.

When Mo. Christine Milton was in her final stages of life, Rev. John Lewis had me give her a message, out loud, from the pulpit. It was in the fall 1999 (she passed that December). The message from the Spirit was, “Remember, the sun is always shining. Even on a cloudy day, the sun is shining. Even at the darkest hour of night, the sun is shining. Regardless of whether you see the sun, it is shining for you. God, through the teachings of Father Hurley, has given you a great light, the sun. This Sunlight will always shine on you.” When I stepped out the pulpit, I looked at Mo. Milton, she had a big smile on her face.

This message is for you as well. It can make you smile through your trials. No matter the obstacles in your life, the sun is still shining. Have faith in tomorrow. I can heard my grandmother, Rev. Georgia Latimer saying, “Where there is life, there is hope.” So, since you are still alive, there is hope. Life WILL improve, provided you keep faith and hope alive, and are willing to work for it.

May God bless and keep you. And may the sun, which represents light and wisdom, ever bless you.

I have the honor to be your obedient servant,
Rev. George Latimer-Knight
