Reverend Janie Lowe, In Memoriam

Reverend Janie LoweReverend Janie Lowe was tried by life on numerous occasions, and was found to be true. She was a longstanding member of the Universal Hagar’s Spiritual Church. Her husband Reverend Thomas Lowe was the first State Prince of Michigan.

Reverend Lowe loved Father Hurley and the truth he brought forth. She served in many capacities in the church. Mother Hurley taught her how to cook and care for her family. She even assisted Mother Hurley in making the robes and other religious vestments. She stood by her husband as he ministered in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and other parts of the country.

Reverend Janie Lowe became a pastor herself. She served in Lima, Ohio and lastly pastored Temple #9 in Detroit, Michigan. She also proudly served as Assistant Supreme Mother of the Universal Hagar’s Spiritual Church.

On a personal note, she was present when I had my first confirmed experience in seeing a spiritual manifestation. I was around eight or nine at the time. Reverend Lowe and another loyal member, Madam Hattie Fields were cooking at the Headquarters Church. I was just sitting there listening to their wise conversation. I happened to look up and by one of the counters I saw a shadow figure. It was an all black humanoid figure with bright blue eyes like headlights. It placed both hands on the counter then ran through the doorway, out of sight. Before I could say anything, Madam Fields asked Reverend Lowe casually, “Did you see that?” She answered in her dignified voice, “Yes. And its alright.” I never said a word. I know what I saw, and I knew they saw it too.

The spiritual faith is real. That experience could have been a frightful one. However, Reverend Lowe’s, and Madam Fields’, calm reaction let me know there is nothing wrong with the spirit. Thanks to that experience I have no fear of spiritual manifestations, and no doubt that they are real. I can here Reverend Lowe preaching these words, “I am God all by myself. I don’t need your help.” (cf. Isaiah 44:6,8; 45:5) God’s Word will go forth, whether we preach it or not. Reverend Lowe made the right choice and preached the Word of Life to all she knew. Let us all follow her example of love, strength, and courage, and do the same. Amen. Amen. Amen.

I have the honor to be your obedient servant,

Princess Ida Lee Childs, In Memoriam

Princess Ida Lee ChildsPrincess Ida Lee Childs, Spiritual Leader of the Universal Hagar’s Spiritual Church, made her transition into the spirit world on yesterday, Friday, May 11, 2007. When a righteous saint leaves this world, it is both a somber and joyous occasion.

I must admit that I did not agree with all her decisions as President of the Wisemen Board, however some things I can see more clearly now. Tough choices must be made in leadership. This is just one lesson Princess Childs leaves with the U.H.S.C. We must be moved and led by the Spirit of God, and not by committee. We must obey the sweet voice within.

This great woman of God taught me a variety of lessons that I will elaborate on in future articles and sermons such as, “Pay Yourself First”, “What’s Yours is Yours”, “You Must Give Your Life to God”. Princess Childs, at least to me, emphasized the need to find the practical lessons of Christ’s teachings. Without finding the practical lessons, religion becomes a useless exercise.

The greatest gift Princess Childs gave me was ministerial ordination. Ordaining a 20 year old was a great risk. Many young people, even those with greater potential than mine, have turned their backs on God. By ordaining me, she showed her faith in the spirit over the flesh. On several occasions I thought about giving up the ministry. But when that evil thought came, I could feel Princess Childs’ hands on my head. I could feel her virtue, her sincerity, her faith, her will, her strength, her spirit, her drive, her determination, going throughout my body. Every cell, quickened by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Praise God! Hallelujah!

Father Hurley said in one article, “I see the perversion coming.” He was referring to a future time when his doctrine would be perverted, that is changed. However, he said the unborn generation would rectify the situation, and bring the U.H.S.C. back on track.

Princess Childs fought to keep the doctrine as pure as possible. If any “perversion” happened under her leadership, it was not done purposely. She encouraged the youth, the unborn generation, to stay involved. I can still hear her saying to me, “You must give your life to God.”

Princess Childs: I love you. We disagreed on some issues Princess. There is one issue I know we agreed on: Father Hurley is who he said that he is, and he can do what he said he can do. Farewell obedient servant, take your deserved rest! Amen. Amen. Amen.

I have the honor to be your obedient servant,
